Memberships

As a member of the RSL you will enjoy the privileges of having joined one of Australia’s oldest and most revered organisations. An organisation committed to selfless service on behalf of the nation. An organisation which is dedicated to honouring those who have served our nation through military service and which believes that the care of veterans and their dependants remains its core role.

At Beaumaris RSL we offer four different types of membership:

Service – for those who have served in the Defence Forces, Australian and allied

Currently serving members – for those who continue to serve

Affiliate – for those related to people eligible for a service membership

Social/community – for those people who wish to support the Sub Branch and participate in our sporting teams

No person who is eligible for Service membership of the League shall be admitted as an Affiliate.

The eligible persons who may be elected as Affiliates are those who do not qualify for Service membership and comply with the following:

• a person who is not eligible to be a Service member;
• is eighteen years of age or older and;
• a person who is any relative of a person (living or deceased) who is or was eligible to be a League member.

For the purposes of this rule, a relative shall be parent, grandparent, spouse, brother, sister, child, grandchild, stepchild, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nephew, niece, aunt or uncle of the person who is or was eligible to be a League member.

Or a person who has been awarded the Certificate of Merit or a National or State Certificate of Appreciation for giving valuable service to the League.

Or a person who is, or has been, a member, for at least 6 months, of one of the following:

• A State or Federal Police Force;
• An Ambulance Service or Brigade;
• A Fire Brigade or Fire Authority;
• A State Emergency Service;
• A Bronze Medallion member of a Surf Life Saving Club; or
• A Corrections/Prisons Officer.
